Israeli architect Malkit Shoshan restores lost histories by mapping the geography of conflicts in the Middle East since 1948. Her Atlas of the Conflict, to be published in Fall 2010 by 010 Uitgeverij (Rotterdam, Netherlands), documents the ways that urban planning and architecture have been used to carry out oppressive political agendas.
In June 2010 Shoshan came to Portland, Ore., for a Publication Studio dinner and discussion of her work. On that occasion we printed a full-color limited edition of the "Lexicon" of her book, of which we have 10 copies remaining (edition of 24).
